The Junior Championship (Boys)
A Championship meeting shall be held each year at which there shall be Competitions to decide:
The Junior Championship for the Mackenzie Cup.
Age Group winners for those aged Under 16, Under 15, Under 14 or younger
Junior Team Shield Winners
The championship, under 16 and under15 age groups will be decided over 36 holes. The under 14 age group will be played over 18 holes. However, players under the age of 14 may enter the Junior Championship if they have a handicap of 9 or less. In this case their first round will count for the Age Group Championship.
QUALIFICATION- under 18 years old as at January 1st of the current year.
To be eligible for the Age Group competitions competitors must on January 1st immediately prior to the competition be:-
Under 16
Under 15 – or younger with a single figure handicap
Under 14
The first round of the competition only will count for Age Group Competitions.
In the event of a tie for the Championship, the winner will be decided by a “sudden death” play off. Ties for the Age Group Championships will be decided by count back.
In the event of curtailment through bad weather first round results will be used to determine the winners.
Clubs may enter, from those competing at the above championship, a team of 3 players to compete for the Junior Team Shield. The winners will be the team with the lowest aggregate score counting 2 of 3 combined gross scores in both the morning and afternoon rounds. In the event of a tie the trophy will be shared and held for equal parts of the year.
Clubs may enter more than one team.
