UNDER 18 WIN BOTH MATCHES

The Under 18's travelled to Dunstable Downs on Sunday for the first of three league encounters with Bedfordshire and Norfolk. Captain, Jack Rust, with the assistance of the team talk from manager Jim Harrison had the team in fine fettle and so it proved to be needed.

The match against Norfolk saw a win by 8 - 0 with all players putting their opponent under pressure. The match against Bedfordshire was very tense. Suffolk were assisted when a Bedfordshire player had to leave the course unwell after 3 holes. It was good to hear that he was feeling better and had recovered by the end. So in the end it came down to the last games. Earlier wins for Kane Russell, Bailee Taylor and a walk over for Charlie Goodridge saw the scores level at 3 -3 with the last 2 pairs on the 17th. Patrick Coffey was fortunate to win the 17th but hit a great shot into 18 to win the last two holes for a half. George Swallow meanwhile hit a good par up 17 to complete a 2 and 1 win and the victory was confirmed. The full results can be seen by clicking or RESULT.

The next round of matches is on Sunday 26th May at Royal Norwich.
