Aldeburgh win the Hambro Cup
The final of the 2018 Hambro cup was contested by Aldeburgh and Stowmarket at Bury St Edmunds Golf Club on Sunday 9th September.
The morning matches saw Aldeburgh establish a slender lead of 2 holes with wins from Logan Mair and Tim Hedin (2 up) and Jack Strowger and James Ollington (3 up) The match between Robert Palmer and Andy Edmunds finsished all square whilst the Stowmarket pairing of Owen Clouting and Ross Harvey were 3 up.
Stowmarket were unable to reverse the deficit in the afternoon despite a 3 up win from Jack Forgan and Mark Jones eventually conceding defeat by a 3 hole margin.
Results- Am- Logan Mair and Tim Hedin beat James O'Doherty and Keiran Issit 2 up, Jack Strowger and James Ollington beat Jack Forgan and Mark Jones 3 Up, Robert Palmer and Andy Edmund all square with Matt Lockwood and Andy Forgan, Jim Harrison and Jack Levermore lost to Owen Clouting and Ross Harvey 3 holes.
Pm- Mair and Hedin all square with O'Doherty and Issit, Strowger and Ollington beat Lockwood and Andy Forgan 3 Up, Palmer and Edmund lost to Jack Forgan and Jones 3 down, Harrison and Levermore beat Clouting and Harvey 1 up
