Bury St Edmunds retain the Hambro Cup
The final of the Hambro Cup between Bury St Edmunds, the holders, and Gorleston took place at Rookery Park Golf Club on Sunday 19th September.
The morning matches saw Bury St Edmunds establish a 3 hole lead with 3 of their pairs securing wins,Gorleston's pairing of Ray Thompson and Matt Alp standing 5 up against Craig Nurse and Mike Greener.
The 1st 2 matches in the afternoon were halved before Bury's morning losers Nurse and Greener put matters right by defeating Chris Duffy and Daniel Crosby by 7 holes. The final match saw Roger Nicholson and Max Adams win 1 up leaving Bury St Edmunds winners by 11 holes.
