2022 Seniors Matchplay Championship Rules

SENIORS MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP RULES

The 16 players achieving the lowest gross scores in the Suffolk Seniors Championship will contest the Suffolk Seniors Matchplay Championship. The Championship is to be played off scratch.

The first two rounds will be played at club level followed by the Semi-Final and Final at Bungay and Waveney Valley GC on Sunday 18th September. The finishing places will determine whether a player has a home or away draw. Players finishing in the top 8 places in the Suffolk Seniors Championship will have a home draw in Round 1. Round 2 will be as shown on the draw.

Both players are equally responsible for arranging the match. Round 1 must be played by the last day of July Round 2 must be played by Friday 9th September. If players are unable to agree a date and time for the match the player standing on the tee at 1pm on the last available day to play will be deemed to be the winner of the match. There will be no extensions for matches not played within the specified times.

The Semi-Final and Final will be played on 18th September at Bungay and Waveney Valley GC.

Please note – It is the home club’s decision as to whether visiting players are charged green fees in the first 2 rounds.
