Suffolk Seniors Championship 2019 Rules

The Suffolk Golf Union revises its Competition Rules annually and uses the current England Golf Hard Card for competition. Players are strongly advised to carry a copy when competing in Suffolk Golf Union events.


Specific Conditions of Entry for the Suffolk Seniors Championship


a) A Championship meeting will be held each year with the winner receiving the Geoffrey Barnard Trophy.
b) The Team Championship for the Michael Thomas Trophy will be for the three lowest scratch scores returned from the same club.
c) The qualification for the above will be as for County Competitions.
d) The Championship will be decided by Medal Play over 18 holes off scratch.
e) Prizes will be awarded for the best scratch scores for age groups 55-61, 62-69 and 70 and over. Handicap prizes will also be awarded for the same categories. No player will receive more than one prize with the exception for the Team Championship.
f) The top 16 available players will contest the Suffolk Seniors Matchplay Championship. The first two round being played at club level followed with the semi-final and final at the venue of the Suffolk Seniors Championship. The finishing places will determine whether the player has a home or away draw. Players finishing in places 1 to 8 will have the home draw.

h) A current list of entries received for all championships will be displayed on the SGU website.


As a condition of entry, participants agree to the SGU rules and procedures.
