Eastern Counties Cup

The Eastern Counties Cup, a Suffolk Order of Merit competition was played at Woodbridge Golf Club on Sunday 21st May 2017. The competition attracted a field  of 65 competitors.

Habebul Islam, scratch from Ipswich, took the gross prize with rounds of 75 and 69 for a 4 over par total of 144 from Jake Keeley, Bawburgh and Christopher Chaplin, Rochford Hundred who both finished on 147. The closest Suffolk challenge came from Greg Hills on 148 and Adam Sheldrake, Felixstowe Ferry on 149.

The Eastern Counties Cup was won by James Holland, a 6 handicapper from the home club, who had rounds of 78 and 75 for a total of 153, nett 141 (1 over par) Darrell Aziz, 3 handicap from Rayleigh was second with a nett 142 beating Graham Tait, a 5 handicapper from the home club, on count back.
