English Men's Amateur Championship
Eight Suffolk players entered the English Men's Amateur Championship played at The Berkshire Golf Club 1st to 6th August.
After 2 rounds of stroke play 64 players and ties progressed to a match play competition.
Six Suffolk players failed to make this stage, the cut coming at 143, level par. Scores- Chris Bartrum 149, Josh Driver 149, Monty Scowsill 150, Luke Thompson 149, Calvin Sherwood 146. Guy Mummery shot 80 in round 1 and didn't complete round 2.
James Biggs made the match play on the mark of level par and had to go into a preliminary round match which he won by 1 hole against Mark Collins.
However, In the 2nd round (of 32) Biggs went down 3 & 2 to Thomas Plumb whilst Paul Waring lost by 1 hole to Jay Beisser. Waring had qualified for the match play stage with rounds of 72 and 69 for a 2 under par total of 141.
