Habebul Islam is Suffolk Schools Champion
Habebul Islam of Northgate High School won the Suffolk Schools’ Championship with a round of one under par 69 in breezy conditions at Diss where the rough was punishing. He also took the under-16 title as he does not turn 16 until April. Habebul, a member at Ipswich Golf Club, holds a handicap of scratch.
Runner-up was Max Adams of Culford Academy where he is coached by Lawrence Dodd. He also had a round of 69 but was beaten on count back. Three-handicap Adams is also still under 16.
Some of the players, at Suffolk schools, are members at clubs outside the county.
Fourteen-handicap Taylor Crisp of Farlingaye and Seckford, won Division Two of the handicap with net 63.

The leading girl was 18-year-old Alice Barlow (Thomas Gainsborough and Newton Green), the Suffolk Ladies’ champion, with a round of 74.
