Haverhill Junior Open
Haverhill Golf Club held their Junior Open, a Suffolk Junior Order of Merit event on Wednesday 26th August. It attracted a field of 16 competitors. Unfortunately the competition had to be reduced to 9 holes owing to torrential rain.
Lewis Whiting, a 2 handicapper from the home club, recorded the lowest gross score with 37 followed by Harvey Watts, Newton Green 40 and Joshua Hulyer, Haverhill and Max Weaver, West Suffolk, both on 43.
The handicap competition was won by Joshua Hulyer, a 14 handicapper, with 43 nett 36 on countback from Lewis Whiting and Thomas Turner also from Haverhill.
Lewis Whiting took the prize for the longest drive with Freddie Leonard,West Suffolk, winning nearest the pin on the 2nd and 8th holes.
