Mark Jackson, a 5 handicapper from Woodbridge, gained victory in the Suffolk Senior Championship held at Brett Vale Golf Club on Wednesday 2nd September with a one over par round of 71. He was closely pursued by Trevor Hellyer, Stowmarket, who shot 72 and Garry Robinson and Stephen Whymark, both of Woodbridge who had 73's. Robinson edging out Whymark for third place on countback.

The Team competition for the Michael Thomas Trophy was won by the Woodbridge trio of Jackson, Robinson and Whymark with a total score of 217.

Individual Age Group prizes were awarded as follows- 55-61- Won by Giles Oates, Stowmarket, with a net 71 from Alan Garrett, Bury St Edmunds,with 72. 62-69 - won by home player Owen Norman, a 10 handicapper, with a superb gross 75 nett 65 from David Matter, Bury St Edmunds, with a nett 71 and 70 + won by Jon Marks, Woodbridge with a nett 73 from Colin Firmin 74.
