Suffolk Under 14's were in action in the Keith Bass Trophy at Pavenham Park Golf Club, Bedford, on Tuesday 19th August. This is an annual competition between Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Essex and Norfolk. The format is the best 3 gross scores added to the best 3 nett scores from a team of 8.
Blustery conditions coupled with firm greens made scoring difficult for the morning nine holes.However, this improved in the afternoon with both Alfie Halil and Louis Martin playing below their handicaps.
Michael Gilbert, Essex, recorded the lowest 27 hole gross score with 111 followed by Harry Robson, also Essex, with 115. The best nett over 27 holes went toLouis Martin, Suffolk, with 104.5.
Essex took the team competition with a total score of 674 from Suffolk on 683.5, Norfolk 706 and Bedfordshire 719.
