Suffolk - Under 14s Norfolk & Cambridgeshire

Triangle match vs Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, with 9 holes foursomes in the morning, followed by 18 holes singles in the afternoon. First group off at 10:30am for the morning round, and a 1pm tee off in the afternoon. Parents and supporters are welcome to attend.

triangular match against Norfolk and Cambridge report. 

 

Suffolk and Norfolk arrived with 2 reserves whilst Cambridge arrived with 1 reserve. Agreed prior to match between all team managers to play 8 man team allowing the last the reserves to play but not including their scores, however prizes was given out to all these guys for participation.

The morning started of with foursomes over 9 holes with Henry Meadows and Harry Brinded teeing off first Followed by Fraser Johnson and Reuben Harvey in the second pairs. Third pair was Callum Pearce and Charlie Goodridge. Fourth pair was Jack rust and Josh Hembling. Reserves was Nathan willet and Enzo Johnson. 

As the morning progressed the teams started to settle down to a good rhythm with some superb golf played by all counties. Norfolk started of with a strong pair however Henry and Harry stood their ground and came back to win 2&1 but drew against Cambridge. Fraser Johnson, Reuben Harvey, Callum Pearce and Charlie Goodridge either lost or halved their 9 holes in their first round matches. Jack Rust and Josh Hembling came in early with a good won against Norfolk but once again Cambridge came in strong to win over the Suffolk pair. After the first 9 holes the score was Cambridge on 6 and Suffolk and Norfolk sharing 3 points each. 

Reserves came in Suffolk winning 2, Cambridge winning 1 match and Norfolk failing to score. 

After lunch the singles matches started with Henry Meadows starting for Suffolk. With a mixture of sunshine and clouds the day went on with a mixture of golf from all counties. Cambridge played a strong team which resulted in several points added to the score from the morning. Harry, Reuben, Charlie, Jack and Josh all winning their matches against Cambridge and Norfolk. Scores finally started to come in pointing towards a Cambridge win. 

 

Final ale score for all counties was a Cambridge win with 15 points followed closely by Suffolk on 13 points with Norfolk coming in with 8 points. 

 

Reserves came are in with a complete Suffolk win over Cambridge single player and Norfolk’s 2 reserves.
