Presidents Golf Competition

As usual the Presidents Golf Competition preceded the AGM of Suffolk Golf Limited. It was held at Bury St Edmunds Golf Club on Friday 29th March, 46 pairs took part in a 4 ball better-ball competition. The weather was superb and although the course was in extremely good condition many pairings found it difficult from the white tees.

There was, never the less, some good scores with Tony Innes and Jim Brinded (Thorpeness) taking 2nd place with 42 points on countback from County Captain, Joe Cardy (Hintlesham) partnered by David Matter from the home club. The winners with a score of 43, pictured right, were Rhys Nightingale and Andrea Leigh from West Suffolk Golf Centre

Perhaps the highlight of the day was a hole in one achieved on the par 3 9th by former County President, Phil Platten (Aldeburgh)
