Noble wins Rushmere Vase

The first Order of Merit competition in the Woodward Markwell 2019 Race to Aldeburgh, the Rushmere Vase, took place at Rushmere Golf Club on Sunday 7th April. 35 competitors took part.

Russell Oakey, Newton Green, took the scratch prize with rounds of 72 and 69 for a total of 141, 3 shots ahead of Sam Byford, Ipswich who carded 75 and 69 for 144 and 5 shots clear of Danny Westerm, Gorleston who shot 76-70 for 146. Last year's Order of Merit winner, Jed Seeley, Newton Green was joint 4th after rounds of 72 and 78 for 150. He was tied with Adam Sheldrake, Felixstowe Ferry 72-78 and Teddy Hall, Bury St Edmunds 73-77 who took an eight on his final hole, the par 5 9th.  

The Rushmere Vase, awarded to the handicap winner, went to George Noble, a 12 handicapper from the home club, with 83-80 for 163 nett 139 from, Russell Oakey and Tyler Weaver both on 141.
