Suffolk Under 14's narrowly beaten by Norfolk

Suffolk Under 14 boys had their first fixture of the season with a trip to Swaffham Golf Club to play a friendly match against Norfolk. The course was in excellent condition, having been prepared for the Norfolk Amateur Championship the following week, and the weather stayed fine with many sunny intervals.

The nine-hole foursomes in the morning finished level at 2 1/2 points each but Norfolk edged the afternoon eighteen hole singles by 5 1/2 to 4 1/2 to win the match by the narrowest of margins.

Special mention to 11 year old Jacob Severn (Bury St Edmunds) who was the only Suffolk player to score maximum points.
