Elliott wins Eastern Counties Cup

Woodbridge Golf Club was the venue for the Eastern Counties Cup, a Suffolk order of merit competition in the Race to Aldeburgh. 53 players took part.

The lowest gross score was carded by Tom Owen (Rochford Hundred ) with 146 , rounds of 77 and 69, the afternoon round seeing him beat Rhodri Harston (Muswell Hill) on count back, Rhodri carding two 73's. John Blackmore (Colchester), Michael Gee (Bury St Edmunds) and home player Darren Elliott all returned 148.

The Eastern Counties Cup is awarded to the player recording the lowest nett score and it went to Darren Elliott with 140, 2 ahead of John Blackmore and 3 ahead of Paul Birrell (Lords Golf and Country Club) and Marc Duszynski (Ipswich) both on 143.
