Sir John Drughorn
Gorleston Golf Club held their annual competition,The Sir John Drughorn, a qualifying event for the Suffolk Order of Merit ( Woodward Markwell series in the Race to Aldeburgh) on Sunday 19th August. 53 players took part.
The lowest gross score was returned by home player, Danny Western with 71 and 69 for 141 from Lee Chapman (Gorleston) 71-74-145 and Luke Thompson (Rookery Park) 72-74-146
The trophy, which is awarded to the player with the best nett score, went to home player Lee Chapman, a 5 handicapper, who had rounds of 71-74 for 145 nett 135. Stephen Crosby 3 handicap from Gorleston was 2nd on 147 nett 141 with Daniel Crosby and Alex Reid (both Gorleston) a further shot behind with 154-12-142 and 164-22-142 respectively.
