Suffolk Men v Suffolk Ladies

Suffolk Men held their traditional pre-season friendly with Suffolk Ladies at Royal Worlington Golf Club on Sunday 22nd March. The foursomes match, played using Hambro scoring, saw the men defeat the ladies by a margin of 7 holes. 

Chris Bartrum and Paul Waring finished all square with Vanessa Bell and Vicki Inglis in the opening match. The match was all square playing the last where Inglis hit her approach to within a foot.The birdie putt was conceded leaving Waring to hole from 9 feet to force a halve. 

Match 2 saw James Biggs and Robert Salter beat Sarah Howe and Eloise Aldous by 4 holes despite conceding 6 shots.

Josh Cottrell and Jasper Johnson were also giving 6 shots in match 3 against Alice Barlow and Abbie Symonds. In a tight match the men edged home by 2 holes.

In the final match Nathan Overton and Ali Hall, the reigning Suffolk Foursomes Champions, edged home by 1 hole against Suffolk Ladies' Captain Sarah Saggers and Tanya McGregor leaving the men victors by 7 holes.

Suffolk men have a further pre-season warm up when they meet the Suffolk professionals next Sunday at Ruhmere Golf Club
