Suffolk Under 18's v Bedfordshire and Norfolk
Suffolk Boys put in a much improved performance in their second England Golf South East Group Northern Section league match by beating Norfolk by 5 1/2 to 2 1/2 and Bedfordshire by 4 1/2 to 3 1/2 at Bury St Edmunds.
Jed Seeley played superbly, being 5 under par for the first 12 holes, to win his matches by 7 and 5 and 5 and 4. Fifteen year old Jack Orris, making his first appearance for the Under 18 team, was equally impressive in winning his matches 6 and 4 and 5 and 4. Gregor Tait faced England Under 16 international Toby Briggs from Norfolk and added to his growing reputation by winning 2 and 1. Bedfordshire were hampered by one of their players failing to appear at the match.
This means that the winners of the Northern Section will be decided at the final match between the three counties in Bedfordshire in July. After two matches league points stand at Bedfordshire 5, Suffolk 4, Norfolk 3. The winning county will go on to play the winners of the Southern and Central Sections in the South East Group league final.
