Suffolk Amateur Championship 2024 Rules

The Suffolk Golf Union has updated Competition Rules in 2023 and players are strongly advised to carry a copy of the England Golf Hard Card 2023 when competing in Suffolk Golf Union competitions. There is no hard copy this year but a copy can be downloaded and printed from England Golf

Suffolk Golf Union has adopted EGU policies on Pace of Play, Code of Conduct and Transportation and entrants should be aware of these to avoid breaching these.

Specific Conditions of Entry for the Suffolk Amateur Championship
a) The Championship meeting will be held each year with the winner receiving the Todd Challenge Cup and the John Doe Salver being awarded to the runner-up.
b) Handicap limit is 9.
c) The Championship will be decided by Medal Play over 54 holes off Scratch. There will be a cut after round 1 for the top 30 and ties.
d) Prizes will be awarded for the best Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 scores. There will a prize for the overall 1 & 2 handicap score. No player will receive more than one prize.
e) The top three(available) players returning the lowest 54 holes scores will be eligible to contest the President’s Mashie(Suffolk Matchplay Championship.) The fourth will be reserve.
f) A current list of entries received for all championships is displayed on the SGU website

As a condition of entry, participants agree to the SGU rules and procedures.

A full start sheet and tee times will be posted onto the SGU website shortly after the closing date.
