The fifth Open in the Junior Open Series for 2024 was played at Newton Green Golf Club on Sunday, this also being their first Junior Open held in recent years. Very good entry numbers were again seen for this new 2024 tournament, with some excellent scores being posted too. It was great to see a few new names from the south of the county.
Will Adams (Felixstowe Ferry GC) took the honours in the gross classification with a superb 67, 2 under par overall - an excellent winning score! Followed by Dylan Cook (Bungay & Waveney Valley GC) and Jack Schwarz (Hintlesham GC) who were both on gross 73.
No change in the Series overall with George Swallow (Halesworth GC) on one point ahead of Patrick Coffey (Woodbridge GC) in the gross Series.
New names appear again on the net Series scoreboard, with Jack Schwarz winning the net event. The net Series is going to be a close run thing with numerous names now appearing on the board with points!
